If you only want DokuWiki to work on your local PC without installing anything else or needing to learn how web servers work, the easiest solution is to use a pre-configured package including DokuWiki, PHP and a small server.

The following such one-click solutions are available:

  * **[[install:dokuwiki_on_a_stick|DokuWiki on a Stick]]** can be downloaded from the [[http://download.dokuwiki.org/|official DokuWiki download page]]. Just choose the option under "Include Web-Server". This version is portable and can be run from a thumb drive, aka USB stick.
