Introduction

:!: THIS TEMPLATE IS NO LONGER MAINTAINED :!: If you would like to take over as the maintainer please contact me.

Taratasy is an elegant, low-noise, visually pleasing, HTML5 template designed for use in a personal or organisation knowledge-base, a journal or a blog. The layout is deliberately simple and easy to navigate and gives highest priority to the content. It is based on the new Starter template and easy to customise to your own needs.

NEW : Simplified drop-down menu now used in the navigation bar.

Très joli ! Merci. (Avec plaisir—Symon 2011-08-04 14:24)

:?: Great Template ! Is there anyway i can change the blue color to other colors? What css file should I change?

Copy the css/colourblue.css file and rename it to your chosen main colour, e.g. css/colouryellow.css; make your colour changes in this file 1). Then edit the reference to css/colourblue.css in the style.ini file to point to your new colour CSS file. Voila!—Symon 2011-08-08 10:34
If you have a nice colour scheme please feel free to send it to me and I'll include it with the next release as an option.

:?: How do I get the left hand sidebar (menu) to show up? Thanks!

Look in the Dokuwiki configuration for the Taratasy temple, there you can set the sidebarID: this is the pagename (in the root namespace) of your sidebar page. By default it is called sidebar.
Edit this page and create a list of page links you would like to see in your sidebar, and they will automatically show when you refresh the page.—Symon 2011-08-14 07:59

Very nice job, many thanks.

This is an excellent template! I really like it. I especially like that the links to edit page etc. are hidden when not logged in. Jon (sorry for not having a user here yet)

:?: After install (unzipping the template file into a subfolder of lib/tpl/ named taratasy) just an empty page (only the header) gets displayed. The last line of the html source is <li><a href="#dokuwiki__content">. Are there any config options one has to add manually to the config file before the wiki can be accessed? Stef 2011-11-05 10:17

Which DokuWiki version are you using? The part which comes next in the code requires at least version 2010-11-07 (“Anteater”). — Anika Henke 2011/11/05 18:08
Oh, I used a prior version. Thanks! Stef 2011-11-06 13:03

:?: Great template working in all browsers but not in any version of Internet Explorer. In IE I can see only objects without filling by colour. Thanks for help.

Does anyone have a solution out there, I have little experience troubleshooting IE, I've never used it in the latest 10 years…Symon 2011-11-27

:?: Is it possible to get a different sidebar for each namespace?

:?: Why does it say HTML5? It validates as XHTML 1.0 Transitional. I like it though. Thank you. Vitaiy 2011-12-15 23:05

:?: Please can you explain the content of your sidebar.txt what you have used in your screenshot?

Here's the thinking behind the Taratasy sidebar; for those who might be interested in another way to organise your wiki!—Symon 2011-12-19 20:59

:?: How can I make the template take all screen width there is? I have a 1920*1200 screenresolution on my laptop and your template (except the topbar) is using only half of the width Jeroen 2011-12-19

You can change the width of the content area in the style.ini file in the template's folder.—Symon 2011-12-20 10:05
; widths
__site_width__     = "64em"
__sidebar_width__  = "12em"

Change the 64em to whatever you like, e.g. 100%, etc…

And what if above is not working?

I've tried this

; widths
__site_width__     = "90%"

and this

; widths
__site_width__     = 100%

but still nothing :(

Mea culpa: there is a tiny mistake in my custom.css file; right at the bottom:

  max-width: 64em;

Should be:

  max-width: __site_width__;

Goes to show that I'm not perfect! You can easily fix it yourself; however I will push a bug-fix this evening to Github.—Symon 2011-12-20 19:11

:-P Thanks for the response. That fixed it. Jeroen

:?: Wonderful template! But I get a “[unknown link type]” in my (german) version of DokuWiki (Release 2011-05-25a “Rincewind”). It looks like this now:

  Benutzerprofil | Benutzer-Seite | Admin | Letzte Änderungen | [unknown link type] | Übersicht | Abmelden
                                                                ^^ this should not be here
You'll need to upgrade to Augua release—this is the new Media Manager link… Symon 2011-12-25 13:12
And in case you don't like to update (although it's always the best option), just remove the following line from the template's main.php:
tpl_action('media', 1, 'li');

Anika Henke 2011/12/25 11:29

Hello.
See “Print Preview” in browser, I think it is the mistake to print the search form.
Besides, the template is extra cool, thanks.

Hi, lovely template.
page editing/formatting toolbars don't show with today's github download ad non Agua release… upgraded to Agua now and it works fine. Thanks 4 your work, newer version of template is much nicer

:?: Hi, i really like this template. if i wanted to change the font for template which file and section i should edit?
Bard 2012/03/07

For those who want it to work in IE, add this: filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient(startColorstr='#E7EDF5', endColorstr='#CFDBEC'); everywhere background: gradient is used (with the correct colors).

This is a great template, but we were wondering - is there any way to configure it
such that the site map appears on the left sidebar? This would suit our needs very well. Thanks!
- James 12APR2012

The sidebar is just another wiki page (by default :sidebar). I would suggest that you download indexmenu and insert the approriate markup into the sidebar page and that should do it.—Symon 2012-04-13
That worked like a charm. Thanks. - James 13APR2012

:?: Thanks for this amazing template! One question: below my tables, I don't have any blank line and I have to add the double \ in order to get a blank line just under the table, is there a way to fix that? Hugues (2012-04-20)

THe bottom margin is part of the original “Starter” template design, however you could manually force it by adding the following or similar to the bottom of the css/custom.css file:
.dokuwiki table.inline {
    margin-bottom: 1em;
}

Hope this helps—Symon 2012-04-21

You're a genius! It works! Thanks a lot! - Hugues
It's not true that the space underneath tables is missing in the Starter template. And this template copied it correctly over and I can see the space is there as it should be. So, there must be something else wrong with your installation. Did you add any other custom CSS which might overwrite it? (Or maybe a plugin changes it?) — Anika Henke 2012/04/22 12:57
Thanks Anika, you are sooooooo right, there is nothing wrong with the Starter template indeed, in fact my own installation works as you intended—sorry for not looking hard enough! It must be some other customised setting.—MrBertie 2012-04-22 17:49
Indeed, I installed a plugin called Tablewidth (I might have changed a couple of things !too) but I don't think I deleted such line… Anyway, it seems that everything is fine, now. If it happens that it doesn't work anymore, I'll reinstall everything, I'm still testing this amazing wiki - Hugues

:?: Fabulous Template - Love the look and feel - however, for a newby, is there something I'm missing on how to place the TOC on the RHS correctly? When I run mine, the TOC appears at the TOP of the Content Block which pushes everything down whereas the demo image shows the TOC in its traditional location on the far RHS. — MarkB 2012/09/11 17:56

I have the same problem here, with a freshly installed Adora Belle RC1, and would highly appreciate a solution. BTW, very nice, clean template. I really like it. — Christin 2012-09-19
Due to a lack of time on author's part this template has not yet been updated to Adora Belle; I will get around to it soon enough, but I also have a normal life to live… Feel free to fork it and update it yourself if you do not have time to wait!–MrBertie
UPDATED! Sorry it took sooooo long! Life has been very busy.—MrBertie 2013-03-08 22:26

The template is working fine at all points with release 2013-12-08 “Binky”. Excellent work. —-Uwe 2014-03-20

:?: Love the template. One question: I notice that the sidebar/main window are a fixed width and do no adjust to fit different sized monitors. Any way to adjust this? — Brodiemac

Hi, thank you for the template. Just a question, How can I show sidebar when I'm on search page? Thanks. Bob

1)
all theme colours are in this file, I already started making a colourgreen.css file…not finished yet!
