Application
The Wideredit plugin allows editing multiple sections at once. This is especially helpful on smartphones, since the editing area of a single section is sometimes too small. On the other hand, editing an entire wiki page on a smartphone is often unmanageable.
Installation
Install the plugin using the Plugin Manager and the download URL above, which points to latest version of the plugin. Refer to Plugins on how to install plugins manually.
Usage
After the plugin is installed, the first edit section can be selected to initialize the multi section editing. The selection is done by right-clicking a section edit button, on an Android mobile device by a long press. A selected edit button is displayed as an indented push button.
Once a section has been marked as such, click another edit button and the editor will open all sections from the first to the clicked section.
The selection of the first section is detected by the contextmenu event of the edit button. That means all methods are possible that are otherwise used to call the context menu. Unfortunately, on iOS mobile devices the context menu is currently not supported because of a bug in the Safari Browser. It follows that there is no Wideredit function with this browser.
Normal section editing is not influenced.
Issue with the Include Plugin
Currently, safe use in combination with the Include plugin is not guaranteed. Be careful not to select two sections where one section is inside an include and the other is outside an include.
