This backend can be used if you want to use Dokuwiki together with a corporate LDAP, but you do not have any control over the structure of the LDAP. It allows you to keep all the access data for your wiki in Dokuwiki´s plain text files and still use the corporate LDAP for authentication so your contributors will not need to memorize yet another user name and password.

For more recent versions of DokuWiki, you probably want to take a look at the Chained Auth Plugin which allows you to specify multiple auth plugins.

Warning: The version linked above will only work with DokuWiki releases from “Binky” upwards.

A version of authlocalldap for “Weatherwax” can be found in the release archive.

Search and install the plugin using the Extension Manager. Refer to Plugins on how to install plugins manually.
